Every journey has a beginning. Sometimes, it also has a second beginning.
Twenty-five years ago, as a 21-year-old, I loaded my bicycle and rode across Canada to raise awareness about climate change. That journey changed the way I saw the world. It taught me resilience, introduced me to incredible people, and deepened my appreciation for the landscapes that connect us from the prairie to the east coast.
Life has changed a lot since then, but the values that inspired that cross-country ride have never really left me.
In just a few weeks, my daughter Dylan and I will set off on our first bikepacking adventure together.
For Dylan, it will be a first. For me, it feels like coming home.
This new adventure is not about repeating the past. It’s about sharing it.
Writing has always been an outlet for me so I’ll be documenting our adventures in writing and videos. The videos and photos will be on Instagram, which you can find @growingwithpurpose.ca. Enjoy the journey!
